SLEEP THERAPY

Sleep therapy is a type of treatment that is designed to help people who have difficulty sleeping. There are several different types of technology to determine sleep issue. We use a revolutionary FDA-Cleared portable home sleep apnea test and diagnostic device that uses innovative technologies to ensure the accurate detection of sleep apnea. Unlike more complicated diagnostic devices, this home sleep study device is easy to use, accurate, and reliable Home Sleep Apnea Test (HSAT) and ambulatory sleep study device.

This device was designed with patient use in mind for “in-home” sleep apnea testing in the comfort of your own bedroom. This environment is more representative of your personal sleep habits. The home sleep device’s simple operation and robust, noninvasive design, ensure the best possible sleep experience as opposed to being hooked to several wires and observed by individuals through the night. We feel no one would sleep well in that environment.

Our home sleep test device has 3 points of contact design makes it easy to use. Simply prepare for sleep as you normally do. Just before you go to bed; attach the chest sensor, strap on the home sleep apnea test bracelet to your non-dominate hand, slip on the finger probe and you are ready to go.

This will help us with the specific sleep disorder that you may have and its underlying cause to help you find the appropriate solution.

HERE ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF SLEEP THERAPY THAT WE OFFER RIGHT HERE AT ND WELLNESS:

  • CBT-I is a type of therapy that focuses on changing thought and behavior patterns that contribute to insomnia. It may include techniques such as relaxation, sleep restriction, and stimulus control.

  • There are several medications that may be prescribed to help improve sleep, such as hypnotics and sedatives, melatonin agonists, and some antidepressants.

  • Relaxation techniques such as deep breathing, yoga, and meditation may help reduce stress and anxiety, which can improve sleep.

  • Light therapy can be used to regulate the body's internal clock and improve sleep patterns. It involves exposure to a light box in the morning, timed with your internal clock to help reset it, so you can fall asleep and wake up at the right time.

  • Sleep hygiene education involves teaching people about good sleep habits, such as keeping a regular sleep schedule, avoiding caffeine and electronic devices before bedtime, and creating a comfortable sleep environment.
